The cost of staying stuck

This week on my podcast, I did something a little different.

And I think it might be one of the most valuable episodes we’ve ever produced.

I called it “The One About Amy.”

If you’ve never listened, Amy is the co-host for the majority of my podcast episodes. She’s also a former client, mom, real estate agent, and all-around awesome person.

This week, I coached Amy on the podcast.

We ran the episode like I would run an initial coaching call and, I’ll be honest, it was as cool an episode as we’ve ever made.

Amy, true to form, was outstanding - vulnerable, relatable, and authentic.

She shared some of the things that she’s been struggling with on her health and fitness journey and it boiled down to two main struggles: sleep and sticking to a nutrition plan.

Amy “knows” what she needs to be doing, but, for basically her entire life, she has struggled to get good sleep and stick with her meal plan (whatever it is).

And that struggle has been keeping her from doing some of the things that she really wants to do and being the full version of who she wants to be.

So, with that, we dug into each of those struggles and we identified:

  • Where the struggle actually was showing up

  • What was keeping her stuck

  • Why she couldn’t get herself unstuck

  • What staying stuck was costing her in her life and happiness

By digging into these things we came to a couple conclusions:

  1. Staying stuck wasn’t an option. The cost was more than she was willing to pay, so we had to figure these things out.

  2. The problem with both her sleep and her nutrition came down to some strategic mishaps rather than a lack of discipline or willpower.

  3. There were some simple (not necessarily easy) steps that she could take to start to make massive improvements in these areas.

Amy has lived a life similar to many of my clients and, I’m sure, many of you.

If you’ve struggled with your sleep, your nutrition, or really anything that has kept you feeling stuck, then this episode is worth a listen.

I think you’ll find it relatable, informative, and encouraging.

You can check it out either on Spotify, Apple, or YouTube.

Even if you don’t like my podcast, you might like this one because Amy is about as likeable as they come and she does the majority of the talking.

To your health,

Jeff

P.s. I ran the majority of this episode like I often run my initial FREE breakthrough consultation calls. To be quite honest, they are the most valuable thing that I do (and there are no strings attached - many people do them and don’t become clients). If you’d like to schedule one of your own, you can either reply “breakthrough” to this email or apply here.
